Dr. Nottage-Smith was born in New Providence, the first daughter and middle child of Michael (deceased) and Tessa Nottage. From an early age, she knew she loved helping others, especially kids, and could not decide between becoming a teacher or a pediatrician. With a gentle nudge from her parents, she opted to enter the field of medicine. She, however, chose the specialty of Family Medicine, as it encompassed providing care for the entire family, while allowing time for having a family of her own.
Dr. Nottage-Smith attended Temple Christian School up until junior high and completed senior high school at St. Augustine’s College. She later achieved her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry at the College of the Bahamas in 2008.
Soon Dr. Nottage-Smith was accepted into The University of the West Indies Mona Campus, where she completed her medical studies and became a physician in 2013. In 2015, she joined the Family Medicine Residency Program at the University, and on completion in 2019 received a Doctor of Medicine degree in Family Medicine.
She started her career at Princess Margaret Hospital and advanced from an intern to a Senior House Officer in Internal Medicine, before joining the Department of Family Medicine. She worked as a Registrar at Elizabeth Estates Clinic for a short time before joining the team at Live Well Family Health Center in 2019, alongside Dr. Darius Bain.
Dr. Nottage-Smith is happily married to Toriano Smith, and has 1 son, Tahj. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, shopping, baking and spending time with her family.
